How To Punish Political Turncoats

When I was an undergraduate, I purchased Why Not Freedom? by the Kennedy twins out of Louisiana.

I was hooked. At the time, I was your typical “conservative.” That booked opened my eyes.

They were talking about nullification and the 10th Amendment, and it made sense.

I started thinking about American government differently, and I remember telling my college conservative friends that this was the way forward. Most of them laughed.

No one really believed it.

Times have changed.

The Kennedy twins are great on practical politics which is why I recommend everyone read them.

That brings me to the topic of the day: how do we get rid of political turncoats?

They’re called scalawags in the South, but turncoats are all over the United States.

The Kennedys have a fairly simple approach. Use the oblique method. In Southern speak, “hit ’em where they ain’t.”

And where they “ain’t” is invested in their local constituents. I don’t want to steal my thunder on the podcast, but I recommend you listen and read their article on the topic.

This is think locally, act locally in action.
