Trump’s Return to the Presidency?

According to a few news outlets, Trump has suggested to some advisors that he thinks he’ll be back in August. And by “back” he means in the presidency.

Is this really going to happen? Not likely. It would take a legal miracle. The Constitution does not have a “reinstatement” clause. Trump would need the Supreme Court to declare him the rightful winner of the 2020 election, and that would require audits in several States to break his way with airtight evidence of voter fraud.

In other words, I would say the chance is zero. The government will always protect itself.

But there are some scenarios where Trump could be placed back in the White House before 2025.

Again, these are far-fetched, but the historian in me would love to see something like this happen.

Who doesn’t want to live in historic times?

The likeliest scenario is Trump runs again in 2024 and wins, though even that might take a Herculean effort. Trump still has a lot of support, but Big Tech’s efforts to throttle his ability to publicly communicate.

When Facebook and Twitter can shut down the sitting President of the United States with no repercussions, we’re all in trouble. This is also a good reason to get off Facebook and Twitter.

Twitter is good for a laugh, but Facebook has almost no redeemable value.

I discuss the different ways Trump could resume the office before 2025 in Episode 462 of The Brion McClanahan Show.
